Alice's Overnight Oats
Serves 1. Easily scaled up to serve many people or lots of portions just for you!
you will need -
1/2 cup of oats
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1tbsp chia seeds - you can make it without, but they are very good for you and add a little something to the texture of the finished oats.
1 cup of milk - it can be diary free. (I like unsweetened almond milk myself)
1tbsp nut butter - any nut butter is fine. I used crunchy peanut butter for the batch we served in the shop.
- Mix together the dry ingredients - oats, cinnamon, chia seeds
- Add the wet ingredients
- Mix well until it's combined. The peanut butter is the tough one to mix in properly.
- Store in the fridge overnight in a container with a lid on.
- In the morning, remix your oats and add a little extra milk if you want.
- Add your extra toppings and enjoy!
HINTS AND TIPS!
Add any of the following if you want a sweeter taste without refined sugar - vanilla extract, maple syrup, honey Add any of the following to ring the changes - maca powder, grated apple or pear, dried fruit And finally top it off with a sprinkle of your favourite seeds or chopped fruit. My favourite is our Omega 3 seed mix and blueberries; delicious! |
